Township Issues Updated Road Closures List

A number of roads in Lower Saucon Township remained closed due to trees or wires brought down by Hurricane Sandy.

UPDATE: A Patch reader reported that Ringhoffer Road was open as of 2pm. The information in this list will continue to change as township roads are cleared of debris or utility wires and reopened.

As of 1pm Thursday, Nov. 1, the following Lower Saucon Township roads remain closed in the wake of Monday's storm, the township announced on its website:

  • Spring Valley Road - One lane
  • Ringhoffer Road - City of Bethlehem section - one lane open
  • Sherry Hill Road - Cars only, low wires are hanging
  • Roberts Avenue - Closed
  • Fire Lane - Passable
  • Evergreen Drive - Closed
  • Mockingbird Hill Road - Wires are hanging
  • Lower Saucon Road - Between Crestline and Wassergass Road - Closed
  • Lower Saucon Road at Woodland Road - Closed
  • Lower Saucon Road at Applebutter Road - Closed
  • Polk Valley Road - Open with lane restrictions
  • Hafler Road - Passable
  • Flint Hill Road - South of Waldheim - Closed
  • Hickory Hill Road - Passable with lane restrictions
  • Easton Road at Ringhoffer Road - Passable
  • Wassergass Road - From Drifting Drive to Williams Township - Closed
  • Moravia Street - Closed
  • County Line at Dogwood - Closed
  • Upper Wilhelm at Apple Street - Restricted to cars only
  • Wassergass Road at Bergstresser - Closed
  • Williams Church Road - Williams Township side - Closed
  • Drifting Drive - Between Wassergass and Douglas Fir - Closed
