Simmons Campaign Goes on Attack in New Campaign Ads

A new round of ads touts state Rep. Justin Simmons' education record and claims opponent Kevin Deely will hurt taxpayers if elected.

A recent round of television ads is making waves as the race for the 131st district state House seat kicks into high gear.

Two different ads have been released by Rep. Justin Simmons (R-131) in his re-election effort. Described in articles as "offense" and "defense" ads, one shows Simmons talking about his record on education in Harrisburg while the other shows a smoking $100 bill while a voiceover talks about challenger Kevin Deely's time as a teachers union representative.

Deely, a Democrat, is a 10th grade teacher in the Easton Area School District and former president of the teachers union.

The 131st district includes part of Lower Saucon Township, which is where Simmons' district office is located.
