Sales of Local Artist's Print Benefit Music Students

The print "Valley's Pride" by Wendy L. Wolf is being sold as a fundraiser for the Saucon Valley Music Connection.

A  has created a print that is being sold as a fundraiser for the Saucon Valley Music Connection, which contributes funding to benefit of musicians attending .

Artist , whose painting "Valley's Pride" features numerous local landmarks watched over by the Saucon Valley "Panther," was present at Hellertown Borough Council's Oct. 3 meeting to show her work explain what it represents.

"Valley's Pride" is a "personalized commemorative story painting," she told council members, who unanimously approved the purchase of a print to hang in Borough Hall's lobby. "The idea is to tell a story of the community."

Wolf pointed out some of the landmarks incorporated into the print, including , , , the Hellertown Swimming Pool and the school district campus.

In addition to what's obvious about the painting "there are things hidden inside it," such as a school of fish and a deer, she explained.

"Valley's Pride" also features depictions of the Pennsylvania state tree, state bird and state flower, and can be personalized for a school district alumnus or a community institution or business.

"This is really nice," said council vice president John Bate as the print was being passed around the dais.

If ordered, the print can be shipped anywhere, Wolf said.
