Patio Furniture Business Proposed in Hellertown

At their Oct. 11 meeting members of the Hellertown Borough Planning Commission are expected to discuss a site plan for a proposed patio furniture business at 720 Main Street.

The Hellertown Borough Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 11, and on the meeting agenda is a discussion about a site plan for a patio furniture business at 720 Main Street.

The site plan, which has been submitted by home and garden center owner Andrew Panick, will be reviewed by planners at the meeting.

  • A review of a site plan for 427 Main Street, where a Miracle Ear retail store is proposed by Miracle Ear.
  • A review of a site plan for 1304 Main Street, where a chiropractic office is proposed by Brad Palank.
  • A review of a site plan for 46 Water Street, where a dry cleaning business is proposed by Harpal Singh.

The planning commission will meet at 7pm in council chambers at Hellertown Borough Hall, 685 Main St., Hellertown.

On Oct. 19 at 6:30pm, the Hellertown Zoning Hearing Board will meet to discuss a variance for off-street parking pursuant to the site plan submitted by Panick.

According to Hellertown Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer Joe Chernaskey, the building at 720 Main Street is owned by Panick and is located .

Although zoning calls for 28 parking spaces at that location, a variance is being requested because there are only about 14, Chernaskey said in an email.

Patio furniture would be sold there by appointment only, he added.

The properties at 720 Main Street, 427 Main Street and 46 Water Street are all located within the Town Center zoning district, while the property at 1304 Main Street is located within the borough's Mixed zoning district.
