New Township Park to Be Dedicated Saturday
The ribbon will be cut on Kingston Park at 4216 Countryside Lane in Lower Saucon on Saturday, Oct. 5 during a 9:30 a.m. opening ceremony
An official opening ceremony for Lower Saucon Township's newest park will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m. (rain or shine), according to an invitation posted on the township's website.
Kingston Park, at Limpar and Countryside lanes near the historic Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse, features a rain garden, a trail, restrooms and parking.
The park property was donated to the township in 2005 by Dr. Richard Kingston, to be used as a recreational area or park in memory of his late mother, Ella Ringhoffer Kingston, who attended the nearby school as a young girl.
The Lower Saucon Township Historical Society will also host its annual Apple Festival on the grounds of the schoolhouse on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The opening ceremony for the park will feature the unveiling of a memorial plaque, a ribbon-cutting and remarks by Dr. Kingston and local officials, according to the invitation.
