Friday is Deadline to Apply for Emergency Management Coordinator Position

The Borough of Hellertown is seeking candidates for a voluntary Emergency Management Coordinator position.

The Borough of Hellertown is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) to oversee planning, training and preparation during non-disaster times, and to act as the coordinator in the Emergency Operations Center during times of disasters. 

The EMC has primary responsibility for the development/update of the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and coordinates the appropriate training for personnel. The EMC maintains records and reports. The EMC leads the coordinated, concentrated response effort that will result in a successful community response to any emergency.

This is a volunteer position. The successful candidate will be required to complete the basic certification within one year of appointment and the advanced certification within three years of appointment.
