Emergency Repairs to L. Saucon Park Pavilion Approved

The pavilion in Town Hall Park is in need of urgent repairs, Lower Saucon Township Council recently learned.

After hearing about the deteriorated condition of the pavilion in Town Hall Park, Lower Saucon Township Council members recently voted to authorize funds for emergency repairs.

Township manager Jack Cahalan explained to council that fascia on the structure are rotted, and said there's concern that a windstorm or heavy snowfall could cause further damage to the 35-year-old structure.

"We've held up reserving the pavilion from now on until it's repaired," Cahalan said.

All of the 2013 reservations for the pavilion were fulfilled, he added.

"Mr. Muschlitz, who passed away recently, did all the brickwork [on the pavilion]," Cahalan told council.

The pavilion was built by the Saucon Valley Lions in 1978, he said.

Town Hall Park is behind the Lower Saucon Township municipal complex off Old Philadelphia Pike.
