Council Votes to Request School Bus Stop Sign

If approved by PennDOT, the school bus stop sign would be placed along Route 412 in the Apples Church Road area of Lower Saucon Township.

Lower Saucon Township Council voted Sept. 5 to request permission from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to install a school bus stop sign on Route 412 near Apples Church Road.

Township manager Jack Cahalan said the state agency will conduct a study to determine if the sign is warranted.

Route 412--which is also known as Leithsville Road in that part of the township--is a state road.

Cahalan told council that a similar request involving a school bus stop near Weavers Lane and Route 412 was made last year.

The motion to send a letter requesting the study was approved 3-0, with council members Priscilla deLeon and Ron Horiszny absent.
