Borough Seeks $193K Grant for Park Upgrades

Improvements to Hellertown's Water Street Park could commence if the borough secures a grant to help fund them.

The Borough of Hellertown has applied for a grant for $193,000 to help pay for proposed improvements to Water Street Park, Borough Manager Cathy Kichline announced at a recent council meeting.

The proposed improvements were discussed in detail earlier this year, and include installation of a new basketball court/ice skating rink, construction of an expanded path network, lighting installation, construction of public restrooms and changes that will allow for the expansion of the popular Saucon Valley Farmers' Market.
