Editor's Note: This story has been updated and corrected. An earlier published version indicated that leaf pick-up will begin Oct. 15. In fact, curbside yard waste pick-up will begin on that date. Leaf pick-up will begin later in the fall. We apologize for any confusion the error may have caused.
Are you starting to gather fall yard waste around your home? If you are, you should know that the Hellertown Public Works Department will begin its annual curbside fall yard waste collection on Monday, Oct. 15.
Public Works Director Tom Henshaw announced the start date for the collection at Hellertown Borough Council's Oct. 1 meeting.
Yard waste pick-up this year will follow the same schedule as garbage pick-up, he said.
Residents of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township can also bring small brush to the Saucon Valley Compost Center for disposal (ID cards are required for admittance).
Small brush is defined as brush that is up to 4” in diameter and/or no longer than six feet.
The compost center, which is located at 2011 Springtown Hill Road, is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm through Nov. 24.
