Attorney Appointed to Serve as Zoning Board Alternate

Mark Albright, an attorney from Hellertown, was unanimously appointed to be an alternate member of the Hellertown Zoning Hearing Board at council's Oct. 17 meeting.

An attorney for nearly three decades with experience working for small and medium-sized firms, Hellertown resident said he wants to serve as an alternate member of the Hellertown Zoning Hearing Board in order to give something back to the community he's happy to call home.

Albright will have that opportunity, after being unanimously appointed to fill the vacant seat by Hellertown Borough Council on Oct. 17.

The alternate zoning hearing board member may vote in instances when a quorum is needed.

Another purpose of an alternate is to fill a vacancy on the hearing board--and Albright said he would be willing to become a full-fledged member of the board if called upon to do so.

"I have reviewed and understand the Hellertown zoning ordinance," he told council.

After he was appointed to the seat, Hellertown borough councilman Tom Rieger thanked Albright for being willing to give of his time in service to the community.

"I just want to thank Mr. Albright for stepping up to the plate," he said.

The Hellertown Zoning Hearing Board typically meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at .
