Woman's Paper Burning 'Got Out of Control,' Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say Patricia McChesney, of the 2500 block of Apple Street, was issued a citation after she allegedly sparked a brush fire when burning papers.

A Lower Saucon Township woman who was burning papers on her property was cited for violating the township's open burning ordinance, according to police.

In a news release, police said Patricia McChesney, of the 2500 block of Apple Street, was burning the papers when her fire "got out of control, causing a brush fire that eventually spread to and caught a garage on the property on fire."

Police said the fire occurred May 2 at about 4 p.m.
