Woman Pulled Out in Front of Oncoming Car, Causing Accident, Police Say

A Lower Saucon Township woman was cited for allegedly causing an accident at Reading Drive and Leithsville Road.

Lower Saucon Township Police say a woman was issued a traffic citation for "proceeding without clearance after stopping" after she allegedly turned into oncoming traffic, causing an accident at Leithsville Road and Reading Drive.

In a news release, police said Margaret Gunton, of the 1600 block of Wildberry Road, Lower Saucon, was attempting to make a left turn from Reading Drive onto Leithsville Road when she failed to ensure that there was no oncoming traffic on Leithsville Road.

Police said Gunton "pulled directly in front of" a car driven by a township man.

The man's car was disabled and had to be towed from the scene of the June 23 accident, police said.
