Woman on Prescription Drugs Drove Off Road: Police

Lower Saucon Township Police say Joanne S. Moore, of the 1700 block of Easton Road, Durham Township, has been charged with DUI-Controlled Substance.

A woman who allegedly drove erratically has been charged with DUI-controlled substance, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a news release.

According to police, Joanne S. Moore, of the 1700 block of Easton Road, Durham Township, was stopped on the afternoon of April 5 after a motorist flagged down a passing patrolman to tell him "the vehicle in front of him had just run off the roadway."

Moore was stopped near the intersection of Polk Valley and Leithsville roads, and at that time "officers detected several clues that Moore was driving under the influence of a depressant," police said.

Police said Moore "admitted to ingesting prescription drugs including Oxycodone and Valium," and that "further testing revealed that (she) was under the influence of these depressants to the limit that she was rendered unsafe to drive."

According to police, the blood test revealed that Moore was also under the influence of the drug Soma at the time of her arrest.
