Police: Woman Made False Report to 'Get More Meds'

Lower Saucon Township police allege that Cassandra Kocsi, of Old Philadelphia Pike, fabricated a story about a theft in an attempt to obtain more prescription medication.

A Lower Saucon Township woman stands accused of filing a false police report as part of an effort to obtain more prescription medication, township police announced in a weekend press release.

Police allege that Cassandra Kocsi, of the 3600 block of Old Philadelphia Pike, called them on the morning of Dec. 15 to report a theft.

"While speaking with Kocsi, she seemed only to be concerned about her prescription meds, asking police if they could write her a note to get more meds," police said.

Kocsi's actions made officers "suspicious," police said, and a phone call from her doctor allegedly added to their concern.

Kocsi later retracted her original story and attempted to change the details of events when two different officers spoke with her, before failing to appear at police headquarters for a scheduled interview, police added.

She was subsequently charged with making false reports and hindering an investigation, police said.

Authorities did not disclose which prescription medications Kocsi allegedly attempted to claim were stolen.
