Woman Had Her Child Push Cart of Stolen Groceries, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township police say Susan Conklin, of the 700 block of Easton Road, Hellertown, has been charged with retail theft. Police say her child pushed a cart filled with more than $2,000 in shoplifted groceries out of a Giant store.

Lower Saucon Township police say a Hellertown woman who allegedly shoplifted more than $2,000 in groceries from the Giant Food Store at 1880 Leithsville Road has been charged with retail theft.

In a news release, police said Susan Conklin, of the 700 block of Easton Road, had her child push a cart filled with $2,003.47 in groceries out of the store without paying for them.

Police said the alleged theft happened Saturday at around 7 p.m.

According to police, Conklin was arraigned before District Judge David Tidd and released after posting $5,000 bail.
