Woman Drove Into Trash Can, Pole: Police
Hellertown Police say Linda Y. Kharma, 59, of Willings Lane, Lower Saucon Township, was driving while under the influence of a prescription drug when she allegedly caused an accident in the 800 block of Main Street.
Hellertown Police say a Lower Saucon Township woman was driving while under the influence of a prescription drug when she allegedly crashed her car in the 800 block of Main Street.
In a news release, police said Linda Y. Kharma, 59, of the 1900 block of Willings Lane, "struck a borough trash can, LANTA sign post and then a telephone pole" in the May 26 accident.
Police said Kharma was determined to be "under the influence of a prescribed drug and incapable of safe driving."
She has been charged with DUI and reckless driving, police said.
