Woman Cited After Crash at Meadows and Leithsville Roads

Lower Saucon Township Police say a Lehighton area woman was cited for following too closely after allegedly rear-ending another vehicle at the intersection of Leithsville and Meadows roads.

Lower Saucon Township Police say a Lehighton area woman was cited after she allegedly caused an accident Aug. 28 at the intersection of Meadows Road and Leithsville Road (Route 412).

In a news release, police said Maria Fajta, of the 600 block of W. Lizard Creek Road, was northbound on Route 412 when the vehicle in front of her stopped at the intersection to make a left turn onto Meadows.

Fajta "did not have enough room in front of her to stop or go around" and rear-ended the other vehicle, which was driven by a Lower Saucon man, police said.

Both vehicles suffered minor damage, and Fajta was cited for following too closely, authorities added.

Police issued their news release about the accident Thursday.
