Woman Attacked by Rooster in Lower Saucon, Police Say

The following information was supplied by the Lower Saucon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

When roosters attack, things can get pretty ugly. And that's exactly what happened on Skibo Road May 12, Lower Saucon Township police reported in a recently issued press release.

After receiving an animal complaint and arriving at Delancy Street to take a report, police say they learned that an adult female victim had been attacked by a rooster while walking with friends along a Skibo Road sidewalk.

Police said that according to the woman, the rooster "kicked its legs and spurs at her, piercing her in the legs, (and) causing puncture wounds" and bruising to her legs.

The attack occurred on the sidewalk, police said.

Police added that the rooster's owner, whom they identified as Mark A. Johnson, of Skibo Road, would be cited for violating the township's nuisance ordinance.

I've had this happen to me ... it's not fun. Roosters can be nasty things, but they also make for great 'watch dogs!' Sorry to hear this innocent woman had to experience such a painful attack.
