Lower Saucon Township police say an Upper Saucon Township teenager assaulted his girlfriend after threatening to kill himself with a switchblade.
Thomas Denton-Borhaug, 18, of the 5500 block of Nina Circle, was charged Monday evening with simple assault, possession of a prohibited/offensive weapon and underage drinking.
According to police, officers were called to an address in the 1600 block of Cambridge Court at around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
There they found Denton-Borhaug on the front porch, and said he threw down a knife when he saw officers.
Police say his girlfriend—who is a minor—said they'd been in a fight, and that Denton-Borhaug had threatened to kill himself with the knife.
When the girlfriend took it away from him, he allegedly pushed her and held her down.
In a news release, Lower Saucon police said the girl said her chest was red from being held down.
Denton-Borhaug was arraigned before on-duty District Judge John Capobianco in Nazareth, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bail.
