Two Motorists to Be Cited Following Traffic Accident

Lower Saucon Township Police say the accident occurred Oct. 2 at Mountain Drive South and Bingen Road.

Two motorists were cited following an accident at Bingen Road and Mountain Drive South Oct. 2, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release Wednesday.

Police said the accident occurred at approximately 6:37pm.

There were no injuries sustained, but the vehicle operated by Matthew Lutcza, 22, of the 100 block of Meadow Ridge Acres Road, Dingmans Ferry, Pa., had to be towed from the scene, police said.

The operator of the other vehicle was identified by police as Robert Rothacker, of the 2000 block of Majestic Overlook Drive, Lower Saucon.

Police said Rothacker will be cited for "Vehicles Turning Left," while Lutcza will be cited for "Traffic Control Signals."

Authorities did not describe the circumstances of the accident in their press release, but several local residents recently complained about poor visibility at the intersection.

BOTH of the motorists were cited? Of all the articles on government power on the patch, this type of absurdity is the most concerning. One person caused the accident and that is it. Are the police too incompetent, too lazy, or both to properly investigate what happened? Or is this an opportunity to issue two citations for monetary gain to the municipality? An analogous situation is with school bullying rules: one kid can be the sole aggressor, but disciplinary action requires that BOTH kids "apologize" to each other. Society is destroying any notion of accountability, making people think that everyone is at fault for all problems.

And so from this article you were able to get all the facts and understand exactly how things happened? Well done. Please do everyone a favor and continue to educate everyone based on your logic after reading these articles.

Poor visibility at that intersection is pure bull! It is wide open, you can see everywhere and everyone! I have never heard such crap. I would love to know if the citizens who complained were also in accidents. I live 500 yards from that intersection and there is nothing that blocks visibility except for cell phones and the people using them!
