Two Hit-and-Run Accidents Under Investigation

Hellertown Police say information about two recent hit-and-run accidents in the borough is being sought.

Borough police say they are seeking information about two recent hit-and-run accidents that resulted in damage to parked vehicles.

In the first accident, which occurred Sept. 24 at approximately 7:49pm, police say the vehicle owner was at home in the 600 block of East Walnut Street when a vehicle was heard racing down the street, followed by a "loud bang."

"The victim walked outside and observed their pick up truck driver's side mirror damage," police said in a press release about the incident.

The second accident occurred Oct. 6 at approximately 11:04am at Main and Bachman streets, police said.

In that case, "the victim stated that the offending vehicle was a blue Jeep Cherokee with a New Jersey license plate," according to a police press release.

Police said the Jeep "was last seen fleeing the scene north on Main Street towards I-78."

Anyone with information about either accident is asked to contact the Hellertown Police Department at 610-838-7040.
