At Least 1 Dead in Crash, Tractor-Trailer Fire on I-78 in Williams

A tractor-trailer fire on I-78 westbound near the toll plaza in Williams Township has caused traffic to back up.

A crash and fire involving a tractor-trailer on I-78 westbound near the Williams Township toll plaza has left at least one person dead and caused a major traffic back-up in eastern Northampton County, according to articles published Monday morning by WFMZ Channel 69 News, the Express-Times and other local news media.

Channel 69 reported that I-78 westbound was closed at Exit 3 in New Jersey, and that eyewitnesses reported that a car may have been stuck underneath the burning tractor-trailer.
