Tractor-Trailer Causes Damage on Wilhelm Road, Police Say

Lower Saucon police say a small section of lawn was damaged after a truck driver ignored posted weight limit signs on the rural road July 26.

An accident and minor damage could have been avoided if a New Jersey tractor-trailer driver had heeded posted weight limit signs along Wilhelm Road, Lower Saucon police said July 27.

According to police, Awwal Muhammad, of Willoughby Street, Newark, N.J., was driving a tractor-trailer when he swiped a tree and caused minor damage to a small section of a resident's lawn in the 3700 block of Wilhelm Road July 26.

Police responded to the scene at approximately 10am and subsequently escorted the truck to a local weigh station, where they say Muhammad was "charged with the overage in weight" the truck was carrying.
