Township Letter Carrier Bitten By Dog, Police Say

Lower Saucon police said the dog did not have an updated rabies vaccination.

Dog bites are a known risk associated with delivering mail, but that doesn't mean police will turn a blind eye to them, if and when they happen.

On Aug. 13, Lower Saucon police say, a local resident found that out when she was cited for a township dog law violation.

According to police, the owner of a dog in the 1400 block of Essex Court was cited after her dog bit a letter carrier at approximately 2:39pm.

The resident "failed to have an updated rabies vaccination for her dog," police said.
