Sun Glare Cited in Black River-Bingen Crash

Lower Saucon Township Police say a motorist blamed sun glare for an accident she allegedly caused at the intersection of Black River and Bingen roads.

Lower Saucon Township Police say a motorist cited sun glare in explaining why she allegedly turned into another vehicle at the intersection of Black River and Bingen roads.

In a news release, police said Frances Koller, of the 2400 block of Black River Road, told them the accident "was her fault."

"(Koller) was traveling north on Bingen Road and stated she could not see because of the sun to make the turn onto Black River Road," police said. "Because of this, she cut the turn, striking (another motorist's) vehicle."

Police said the other motorist was "waiting at the stop sign on Black River Road to turn left onto Bingen Road."

That vehicle had to be towed from the scene, and Koller was cited for failing to maintain her lane of travel, police said.

Police said the accident happened July 7 at 5:48 p.m.
