Sun Glare Blamed in Lower Saucon Accident

Lower Saucon Township Police say Gerald Kunsman, of Bucks County, told them he rear-ended another car because he was blinded by sun glare. A woman was injured in the crash.

A Springtown, Bucks County man blamed sun glare for an accident police say he caused at the intersection of Flint Hill and Leithsville roads.

In a news release, police said Gerald Kunsman, of the 3200 block of Main Street, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Denese Tiedeman, of the 1600 block of Molly Lane, Lower Saucon, at 8:06 a.m. April 9.

Tiedeman was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital by Dewey EMS, they added.

"(Kunsman) said he did not see (Tiedeman) stopped in the roadway attempting to turn left because of the sun glare," police said.

Authorities added that Kunsman was cited for a violation of the vehicle code, "Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed," following the accident.
