Resident Target of Check Scam, L. Saucon Police Say

A township resident was recently the target of a check scam, according to Lower Saucon Township police.

A township resident was recently the target of a check scam, according to Lower Saucon Township police.

In a news release, police said the woman received a check for $2,595 along with a letter telling her she had won a $650,000 prize. In order to claim the prize, the woman was told she would have to pay a fee.

Township police said residents should be wary of any offers that seem "too good to be true."

The "LSTPD wishes to advise the public to be wary of scams in which someone is asked to pay upfront for a prize," police said in the news release.
