'Racially Offensive Statement' Sparked School Bus Fight, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police say a fight between two Saucon Valley High School students began when one yelled a 'racially offensive statement' out the window of a vo-tech school bus on a dare.

A "racially offensive statement" yelled out the window of a school bus on a dare sparked a fight between two high school students, according to Lower Saucon Township Police.

In a news release, police said the alleged incident began on a bus that was returning to Saucon Valley High School from Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School Sept. 23.

Police said when one of two male students -- both juveniles -- heard the other yell out a window, he threw a plastic bottle at his head.

Once the bus reached the high school, police said the fight continued, with one of the students striking the other one.

They were then separated before the fight resumed briefly, police added.

Police said charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct are pending in the case.
