An April 24 traffic stop at Seidersville Road and South Mountain Drive led to the discovery of 74 grams of marijuana and resulted in an Allentown man's arrest for possession with intent, announced Monday.
According to a police department press release, Luis Rivera, of the first block of West Liberty Street, was stopped at 4:16pm for driving while under suspension (DUI-related).
"When Rivera was advised that he was going to be cited for driving under suspension and that the vehicle would be towed, Rivera admitted to have 'some bud' behind his driver seat," police said.
"When police seized the bag, Rivera was found to be in possession of 74 grams of marijuana, a scale, (a) grinder, cash, packaging materials and a cell phone with several posted notes containing numbers," authorities added.
Rivera was arraigned before District Judge Richard Yetter III and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail, police said.
