Police: Township Man Illegally Burned Electronics

Lower Saucon police cited Warren Walters, of Easton Road, with a township ordinance violation following the alleged Aug. 30 incident.

Burning electronics at home is generally considered a no-no, but that's what a township man was found doing Aug. 30, according to Lower Saucon police.

Police said in a Sept. 2 press release that Warren Walters, of the 2700 block of Easton Road, was observed burning a computer and DVD player along with a pile of brush and limbs, after officers responded to a burning complaint in the vicinity of his home.

"(The) caller reported smelling a foul odor in the area which smelled like burning plastic," police said.

Upon arrival at the scene shortly after 8pm, officers and members of "checked the area and found an unattended open burn to the rear (of Walters' property)," they said. "The odor was very strong at this time and was leaving the property."

Police said Walters was cited for a violation of the township ordinance that regulates burning.
