Police Respond After Cows Allegedly Wander Into Road

Lower Saucon Township Police say seven cows owned by Christine Hess, of the 1900 block of Waldheim Road, were found on Flint Hill and Waldheim roads July 31.

UPDATE: According to a press release issued Thursday morning by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department, prior to being cited, Hess was the recipient of several prior warnings for loose cattle.

A cattle owner will be cited for a township ordinance violation because seven of her cows were found on Flint Hill and Waldheim roads early on the morning of July 31, Lower Saucon Township Police announced in a press release Wednesday.

Police said they responded to the property at 1987 Waldheim Road for a report of cows in the road at 3:30am.

Officers subsequently discovered the seven cows in the public thoroughfares, according to the press release.

Owner Christine Hess "failed to keep (the cows) confined to her property, due to the lack of fencing," police said.
