Township Police: Possible Connection Between Burglary, Roofers

Lower Saucon Township police are currently investigating a March 2 burglary in which two laptop computers were stolen.

say there may be a connection between and two white men in their early 20s who were observed "promoting their roofing business" on nearby Sanbrook Drive at around the same time.

In a press release issued Wednesday, police said the men were described as wearing "casual clothing, but no additional information regarding them or the business was able to be learned." Police are asking anyone who may have observed the men to call them at 610-317-6110.

Two laptop computers were reported stolen in the West Raders Lane break-in, which police said was reported by James Sunga at around 10:15pm March 2.

On Feb. 29, a warning about "daytime burglaries" that have recently been reported in the vicinity of Colesville Road and Route 378 in Upper Saucon Township was posted on the Lower Saucon Township website.

The message noted that the four burglaries all occurred within "close proximity to the southern end of Lower Saucon Township."

indicates that two burglaries were reported on Old Bethlehem Pike in the month of February.

However, Upper Saucon Township chief of police Robert Coyle stated that the total number of burglaries reported in the township between Jan. 1 and March 1 is not atypical.

These men came to my house on Sanbrook Court on March 2nd and when I opened my front door they started telling me about their home improvement business. They were not wearing any clothing that identified them as repairmen. I would not open my storm door and my dog let them know that they were not welcome by barking at them. He kept right on talking even as I closed the door. Do not like hearing about robberies this close to home!
