Lower Saucon Police: Nursing Home Employee Drank Vodka While at Work

Lower Saucon Township Police Blotter

Lower Saucon police are also reporting that a 16-year-old township boy illegally off-roaded his Jeep on private property along Springtown Hill Road, because he 'thought it would be fun.'

Both incidents were reported by township police Tuesday, as follows:

  • Public Drunkenness - On Feb. 28 at 6:19pm police say staff at the Mary Ellen Convalescent Home, 1896 Leithsville Road, observed employee Jeffrey Gall, of 1325 First Ave., Hellertown, to have an odor of alcohol on his person and to be acting as if he were under the influence of alcohol. Police say staff subsequently discovered that Gall was drinking vodka in a bathroom at the nursing home. Police were summoned and say they found Gall to be under the influence of alcohol in a public place, "namely while employed at the home." Gall was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .31 percent and was charged with public drunkenness, police added.
  • Criminal Mischief - On Feb. 28 at 7:12pm police say an officer observed a red Jeep "off-roading" on private property in the area of 2061 Springtown Hill Road. The officer ran the vehicle's registration and discovered that it corresponded with an address on Pine Court in Lower Saucon Township, according to authorities. The officer then observed that the vehicle was covered in mud and vegetation, stopped it, and questioned the 16-year-old male juvenile who was driving it. According to police, the juvenile told the officer he was off-roading because he "thought it would be fun." The juvenile was cited for criminal mischief, trespass by motor vehicle and a one-way road violation, because the officer observed him allegedly driving the wrong way on a one-way section of Mount Pleasant Road leading to Route 412.
