Police: Man Attempted to Break Into Home, Fled on Bike

Lower Saucon Township police say the attempted burglary happened at a Moravia Street residence on Aug. 8.

A man attempted to break into a Moravia Street home Aug. 8, but fled when he encountered the homeowner, Lower Saucon Township police said Tuesday.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a burglary in process in the 900 block of Moravia Street at approximately 11:30am.

Upon arrival, authorities say they learned that a man had attempted to gain entry to the home by smashing a rear window.

When the homeowner--who was inside at the time--heard the sound of breaking glass, "she went to her kitchen to investigate and encountered a male outside to the rear of her home," police said.

The man subsequently fled north on Moravia toward Clewell Street on a bicycle, police added.
