Police: Lower Saucon Man Assaulted Wife
Louis Lazaro, 72, allegedly struck his wife on the head several times with his fist and a telephone.
A 72-year-old Lower Saucon Township man has been charged with simple assault and harassment after allegedly striking his wife several times June 19.
According to a police press release, at approximately 10:28pm officers were called to the home of Louis Lazaro in the 1800 block of Waldheim Road, Lower Saucon, after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
Police said Lazaro's wife stated that her husband struck her on the head several times, with both his fist and a telephone.

"Recent bruising and swelling were observed on (her)," police said.
Lazaro was released on $10,000 and his own recognizance after being arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, police said.
