Police: Intoxicated Woman Drove Car Into Snowbank

The Lower Saucon Township Police Department has reported the following incidents:

  • DUI - On Feb. 10 at 6:58pm police say Tammy Benner, of 1375 Scotty Lane, Lower Saucon Township, was found in her vehicle, stuck in a snowbank on Puggy Lane about one block from her residence. Police say Benner was attempting to dislodge the vehicle from the snowbank when an officer arrived, and that he detected the "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" upon speaking with her. According to police, Benner admitted to drinking at home and said she had been on her way to get cigarettes when the car became stuck. Benner failed field sobriety tests and was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .15 percent, police said.
  • DUI - On Feb. 10 at 1:10am police arrested Timothy McEvoy, 30, 0f 9833 Constitution Lane, Breinigsville, for DUI, after he was allegedly observed traveling 63mph in a posted 40mph zone on Rt. 378. Police say McEvoy was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of .11 percent.
  • False ID to Law Enforcement - On Feb. 14 at 9:42pm police charged Curtis C. Phillips, of 2200 N. Delaware Dr., Easton, with providing false ID to law enforcement after he allegedly gave an officer a false name and date of birth during a vehicle stop on Reddington Road. Phillips was also charged with driving under suspension and driving with a suspended registration plate.
  • Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle - Police say Yessy Rivera, 23, of 1106 E. Third St., Bethlehem, borrowed a car its owner with the understanding that it would be returned Feb. 17. Rivera did not return the vehicle and will be charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, police said.
  • DUI - On Feb. 20 at 6:48am police charged Brian George Lichtenwalner, 18, of 234 Wedgewood Road, Bethlehem, with DUI. According to police, Lichtenwalner was stopped on Riverside Drive for alleged vehicle violations and has also been charged with possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor.
  • Hit-and-Run Motor Vehicle Accident - On Feb. 21 at 1:40pm police say a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident occurred on Victor Road at Skibo Road. According to police, Thomas Scholl reported that his vehicle was struck by a red Chevy 1500 pickup truck with a red plow attached to it. Scholl told them the truck continued on Skibo Road toward Hellertown, police added.
