Lower Saucon Township Police Blotter

Lower Saucon police also recently made arrests in cases involving suspected DUI, marijuana possession, careless driving, loose dogs and criminal mischief.

The following incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Police Department:

  • Motor Vehicle Accident, Possession of Marijuana, DUI - On March 1 at 12:49am police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Springtown Hill Road and Route 412 North. Upon arrival, police say they discovered that Arantzazu Boswell, of 5580 Rt. 412, Riegelsville, was the operator of a vehicle that left the road, struck a pothole and rolled over, coming to rest on Springtown Hill Road. Boswell was found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration of .19 percent, police said. Six grams of marijuana were also found inside Boswell's vehicle, police added.
  • DUI - On March 4 at 7:02pm police stopped Stephen Strain, of 2130 Johnston Ave., Lower Saucon Township, for traveling 62mph in a posted 40mph speed zone on Applebutter Road. Strain was subsequently found to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration of .15 percent, police said. Strain has been charged with DUI and exceeding maximum speed limits.
  • DUI, Careless Driving - On March 6 at 3:57am police say they responded to a report of a vehicle accident involving a truck and a utility pole at Leithsville and Flint Hill roads. Upon arrival, police say they discovered that the driver of the vehicle had "fled the scene." Upon checking the area, police say an officer located the driver, who was identified as Joshua Beckage, of 316 Windsor Place, Macungie. Police say Beckage was found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of .16 percent. Beckage has been charged with DUI, careless driving and accidents involving unattended property.
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents - On March 15 at 6:49am police say a motor vehicle accident occurred in front of 1258 Seidersville Road. According to police, Jill Seyfried, of Coopersburg, was eastbound on Seidersville when "she lost control of her vehicle due to ice and impacted an embankment on the westbound travel lanes." Seyfried's vehicle spun backwards and continued to roll before striking a vehicle operated by Joselyn Chiclana, of Bethlehem, police said. Seyfried's vehicle had to be towed from the scene, but no injuries were sustained by either driver, police added. While officers were on the scene responding to this accident, police say another accident occurred in the exact same location. According to police, Theresa Weirbach, of Allentown, was slowly approaching the accident scene in order to pass it "when clear," when Ashley Anewalt, also of Allentown, drove into the back of her vehicle. The second accident, in which neither driver was injured, has also been attributed to the icy roadway conditions at the time, police said.
  • DUI - On March 18 at 2:29am police stopped Jason Lilly, 21, of 1025 Colorado St., Allentown, for alleged traffic violations on Rt. 378. Police said Lilly was subsequently determined to be under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration of .23 percent. Lilly will be sent a summons, police added.
  • Dog Law - On the evening of March 18 police charged Bill Ford, of 1539 Highland Drive, with a dog law violation. According to police, both of Ford's dogs were found "roaming freely" on Sunderland Drive in Lower Saucon.
  • Criminal Mischief - During the overnight hours of March 18-19 police say unknown actors removed a post with street signs for Bette Lane and Sir Walters Way from the ground and carried it approximately 100 feet down the roadway. This incident occurred in the Saddle Ridge development, police said. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Lower Saucon Police at 610-317-6110.
