Update: As of noon the Morning Call is confirming that a suspect in Friday's double homicide in Nockamixon Township is in custody. A report indicates that more information from the Bucks County District Attorney's office will be released later. The suspect was reportedly arrested near Palisades High School and the school was briefly on lockdown, according to the news story, which also indicates that counselors are available to students and staff as needed. A WFMZ news report says the Palisades School District has confirmed that the incident "directly affects" two high school students--a 10th grader and a 12th grader. School district superintendent Bridget O'Connell has issued a statement in response to the crimes, which is posted on the district's website. The Morning Call report says that Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler has confirmed that the suspect and victims knew each other. A recently published report on PhillyBurbs.com indicates that the victims may have been beaten to death.
Update: As of 10:50am media reports are indicating that the suspect in the double homicide in upper Bucks County is believed to be in police custody. The murders occurred in the Revere section of Nockamixon Township--not Ottsville, as earlier indicated--and reportedly happened at the Schoolhouse Apartments.
According to the reports, the suspect is Lloyd Hill, 41, who may be headed to the Lehigh Valley.
Hill "may be driving a blue or purple Ford Taurus sedan or similar style sedan" with the license plate EYF-5704, the Morning Call report indicated.
The report indicates that the homicides occurred before 6am at an apartment building in the 8700 block of Easton Road (Route 611), and that the victims--a man and a woman--were apparently stabbed to death.
That location is about 14 miles southeast of Hellertown.
Hill may be armed with a knife and/or gun, and anyone who sees him or a vehicle matching the description provided should call 911 immediately.
