Police: 'Dually' Driver Struck Mailbox, Lamp Post, Tree

Lower Saucon Township police say the driver of what was apparently a "dually-type" truck caused an estimated $650 property damage at a home in the 2400 block of Black River Road.

Sometime after midnight on May 26 Lower Saucon Township police say the operator of a "dually type truck with an eight-and-a-half foot wheel base" apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a mailbox in the 2400 block of Black River Road.

Police said in a press release that the vehicle also struck a lamp post and came to rest after skidding for 132 feet and striking a tree on the property. The operator of the truck then put the vehicle in reverse and continued through the homeowner's yard for another 98 feet, before returning to Black River Road and proceeding east, police said.

The damage to the property is estimated at $650, according to police.
