Police: Driver's Blood Alcohol Content Was .46 Percent

Hellertown Police say Matthew Snyder, 43, of West Fairmont Street, Coopersburg, was arrested for DUI following a June 7 accident on Main Street in the borough.

A Coopersburg man arrested for DUI in Hellertown was determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) almost six times the legal limit, borough police announced in a press release Monday.

According to the release, Matthew Snyder, 43, of the 600 block of West Fairmont Street, was arrested June 7 at 12:49pm on Main Street in front of Chevy 21 Used Cars.

Police said officers were dispatched to that area after they received a report of a motor vehicle accident.

"Upon arrival, officers investigated the accident and found the accident was caused due to...Matthew Snyder operating a vehicle while intoxicated," they added.

Snyder's BAC was determined to be .46 percent, police said.

The legal BAC limit for most Pennsylvania motorists is .08 percent.
