Police Detail Alleged 'Traffic Incident' on Seidersville Road

The following incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department:

  • Criminal Mischief - Police recently charged a male juvenile from Hellertown with criminal mischief, after he allegedly admitted to carving messages on bathroom stall doors in Saucon Valley Middle School. The incident was reported on April 7, police said.
  • Simple Assault, Harassment - On April 18 at about 10:30am police say a 16-year-old juvenile student at Saucon Valley High School became involved in a fight with another student. According to police, while trying to break up the fight, two other individuals were assaulted by the 16-year-old. Police did not identify the two other individuals. Police said the 16-year-old will be charged with simple assault and harassment.
  • DUI, Careless Driving - On April 22 at about 8:15pm police say David William Polak, 50, of 1503 W. Raders Lane, Lower Saucon, was driving west on College Drive when he drove through the intersection of College and Mountain Drive and into some trees at the end of the roadway. Polak was uninjured in the accident, police said, and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Polak's blood alcohol concentration was found to be .32 percent and he will be charged with DUI and careless driving, police said.
  • Theft - On April 26 at 7:20am police received a report of stolen tires and rims from William Binczak of 1955 Pine Court. According to police, Binczak came out of his home in the morning to discover that his car had been stripped of its tires and rims and left on top of milk crates.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident - On April 26 at 10am police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Old Philadelphia Pike. According to police, Nicole Gawronski, of 3807 Rt. 378, Lower Saucon Township, left the roadway and crashed her vehicle into a utility pole. Gawronski was not wearing a seatbelt and was charged with "roadways laned for traffic," police said.
  • Traffic Incident - On April 28 at approximately 7:20pm police allege that Evelio John Torres, 41, of 1245 Seidersville Road, "operated a motorcycle in a reckless, careless and unreasonable speed on Seidersville Road." According to police, an officer attempted to stop Torres on Seidersville Road by activating his patrol car's emergency lights, but was unable to do so. About eight minutes later, police said the officer found the motorcycle in the driveway of 1245 Seidersville Road. At that point, police say Torres admitted to driving the motorcycle and became "confrontational" with two officers on the scene. Torres' family were present and he "caused a problem in front of his family," police said, adding that "his minor children were crying and yelling for daddy to stop." Torres was cited for "driving vehicle at safe speed" and for not having a motorcycle license, police said.
