Police: 32 Crack Pipes Found in Township Home

Inside the Riverside Drive home, Lower Saucon police say they found crack pipes, other drug paraphernalia, and a police officer's business card on which crack cocaine was allegedly being cut.

On Aug. 18 a township man allowed officers into a Riverside Drive home, leading to the discovery of numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, Lower Saucon police said Friday.

According to police, William Sandt, 62, of the 2100 block of Wassergass Road, was a passenger in a vehicle operated by James Mehrkam, 68, of the 1700 block of North Boulevard, Bethlehem, when the two were stopped by officers for an alleged traffic violation as they pulled up to a home in the 2500 block of Riverside Drive.

"(Sandt) allowed officers into the...residence, where they found 32 crack pipes, three small plastic bags used to package heroin, one spoon with white drug residue, and two bronze marijuana smoking devices with burnt residue," police said.
