Photos: Hellertonian Takes Aid to Storm Victims

Hellertown resident Randy Yardumian left for storm-ravaged Staten Island, N.Y. Saturday with storm aid he and his wife Star collected. Ready-to-eat food, bottled water, baby wipes and many other items will be donated to the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Hellertown resident Randy Yardumian undertook a mission of mercy to storm-ravaged Staten Island this weekend, where he delivered donated emergency supplies to the Uniformed Firefighter Association Staten Island Borough Trustee in Tottenville.

The donated items were collected locally by Yardumian and his wife Star.

Many families in the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Queens "lost everything," Randy Yardumian said, and the donated items have been earmarked for 12 Staten Island families of New York firefighters whose homes were destroyed by the wind and waters of Superstorm Sandy.

After the Staten Island families take what they need, the remainder of the goods will be transferred to the UFA's Queens Borough Trustee, who has a list of affected Queens FDNY families, Yardumian explained in an update Saturday.

"Please thank everyone who contributed to our materials drive," he said.
