'Park Somewhere Else N-----' Written on Woman's Car, Police Say

A racially offensive term was written on a woman's car when she didn't park in her normal space, Lower Saucon Township police said in a news release Tuesday.

A racially offensive term was written on a woman's car when she didn't park in her normal space near her home, Lower Saucon Township police said in a news release Tuesday.

According to police, on Christmas Day the woman returned to her car—which she had parked in front of 93 Benner Street—to discover the words "Park somewhere else n-----' written on the driver's side window.

Police said the graffiti had been written on the window with "a black marking devise [sic]."

Police said they are investigating the incident as a case of criminal mischief.

Anyone with information about the graffiti is asked to call Lower Saucon police at 610-317-6110.
S King January 05, 2014 at 07:57 AM
@ Hugh-I know that you do not know me or know my race. I try to live a life of Peace and love for all. I live by the Golden Rule; do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you knew me you would not have to ask.
Gerry Kranz January 05, 2014 at 11:13 AM
Sking and Paula, you both missed Hugh's point. People throw around the term "racist" without knowing all of the facts. For example, blacks, particularly black teens, use that word quite loosely when referring to each other. How do we know it was not a black person writing this on the car? If a black person did write it, would they still be cited for using "hate speech"? Was the owner of the car black? And, why can't the police spell?
Paula January 05, 2014 at 11:45 AM
Hello Gerry, nobody is aware of who vandalized this vehicle or obviously they would have been arrested. I do not find it appropriate for you to attack the police for not spelling ???? The police were out on Christmas day going door to door in the freezing cold trying to solve this crime , while most of us were warm snd cozy relaxing with our families. I'm finished with this discussion.
Hugh Gallagher January 05, 2014 at 01:55 PM
It's called the "moral authority card" and anyone can play it at anytime. Both Paula + sking indicate that they are of a higher moral standard while they call others names + make accusations, and think others don't have right to "ask a silly question". From their posts, I would guess that neither of them is a racist BUT if someone called either one a racist, they couldn't defend themselves against it. There is no way to prove they aren't.
Cindy Cicero January 05, 2014 at 03:55 PM
I wouldn't want anyone writing with a black marker on my car. That's a big deal....
busybody January 05, 2014 at 05:00 PM
@Hugh Gallagher why do you always find it necessary to start something when someone makes a reasonable comment on patch. I have read your posts in the past and you are always calling people out and giving them a hard time for expressing their opinion. What is your problem? @ Cindy Cicero, if writing on your car with a black marker is what you see as the point of this story you are a very messed up person.
Cindy Cicero January 05, 2014 at 06:01 PM
@busybody why go on about what was written....There are a lot of nitwits out there causing trouble, breaking into garages, making crack, killing their babies, writing on cars...and you say I'm messed up??? It was wrong but when he/she gets caught he will get a slap on the hand, a no no you shouldn't do that and off he will go. I would park there again and wait for the marker to come out....not call the police!
busybody January 05, 2014 at 06:57 PM
@Cindy Cicero, you would wait for them to come out and what would you do? Shoot them? You are all crazy loud mouth big talkers just like the jerk who wrote on the woman's car. You all have so much to say about the drugs and the vandalism and the riff raff, but you don't do anything but talk. Why don't you form neighborhood watch groups? Get your town or township to pay for and to put up signs. You seem to have a lot of people with nothing to do. Let Mr Gallagher and Mr Kranz be in charge of the volunteers and the scheduling. Have people patrol. If there are watch groups you won't have problems, but I guess you would rather just sit in your warm houses and complain and do nothing. That's what the cops are for, right?
Hugh Gallagher January 05, 2014 at 07:05 PM
busybody. I didn't "start" anything. I disagreed, RESPECTFULLY. I am allowed to do that, regardless of what you say .You obviously think namecalling + accusations are OK along with your BS cliche's. And don't volunteer my services for anything . You have nothing to say about that. And I promise I won't tell you what to do either. And you called someone else a "crazy loudmouth jerk" ??
Cindy Cicero January 05, 2014 at 07:18 PM
@busybody Hmmmmm you sure sound like someone else that used to come on the patch and run your mouth like a know it all!!!! What happened? Changed your name??? Everyone on here knows exactly who I am talking about. Calling people names, trying to tell them what to do, putting words in their mouths. Yep sure sounds like she's back! Lmao
Hugh Gallagher January 05, 2014 at 07:38 PM
I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like Maryanne is spreading her junk again. Cindy, I have disagreed with both you + Gerry more often than not but it's always been respectful disagreement. between us. I'm going to make an exception and call busybody a few names. Intolerant + ignorant. And worse.
Cindy Cicero January 05, 2014 at 07:44 PM
@Hugh She's at it again, Name calling and putting words in my mouth. I hate that...I didn't say I would shoot them, but rather wait and catch them. Then call the cops... But she would rather call names. IGNORANCE never goes away. Busybody is a great name for that one.
Mean Mom January 06, 2014 at 06:37 AM
Wow!! A story on the patch turns into bashing one another. There is only one old crow that would come here to spread her poison. If that's you MAL you chose a great new name. Suits you well.
busybody January 06, 2014 at 11:38 AM
there are four people on here who all think alike. and the way that you see it no one else can have similar opinions that do not agree with yours. FYI, I know to whom you are referring, I have seen her posts on patch in the past, I also know why she is no longer on patch, I will say she takes a "no holds barred" approach. Some may find issue with that. Many admire it. She has said what many in our community have though for a very long time, but for whatever reasons were not willing to speak their minds in a public forum. They do however speak their minds in private, at gatherings and parties and golf tournaments etc. Many people came here to live a nice life in what was deamed an uperclass area. This is not an upperclass area. far from it. It is Wealthy people who ignore the entire area, uppermiddle class people and middle class people who have become embarssed to say where they live. The drugs, the racist, hate crime innuendo's, domestic disturbances for a town the size of Hellertown is pitiful. we are paying the highest school district taxes in the area and have the lowest rate of high level graduates and students going on to college. Everyone associates "Saucon Valley" with what it was 40 years ago. The heart of the steel executives with the country clubs and posh life. In those days your schools were Hellertown Middle School and Hellertown High School. They should have kept them that way then no one would have the expectation of the "Saucon Valley" moniker. The woman who used to come on here and critize all of you for being who you were was opinionated, but she was honest, she called a spade a spade. She did not put words in peoples mouths as some would like to believe (that is just plain stupid to think that someone can do that). I can tell you I am not her. She is no longer on Patch because she was threathened by one of you, and you know who you are, so do all of her friends in this community. So I would be very careful about what you say about her, there have been incidents of intruders on her property (this is in a police report so I don't think I am speaking out of turn), so to put your small minds at ease, I am not her, I do not speak for her, I do speak for myself, but there are plenty of people in this area that feel the same way about the narrow minded people who make comments such as yours.

A delusional twin sister?
busybody January 06, 2014 at 12:33 PM
sorry, not related, not female, just travel and socialize in the same socio-economic group. have enjoyed many laughs courtesy of the patch people.
busybody January 06, 2014 at 12:35 PM
we are all glad that she no longer engages, there are some very crazy people out there
Cindy Cicero January 06, 2014 at 12:53 PM
Can't fool me. Nobody threatened you. And yes you name call and put words in others mouths, Mary Anne!!! You couldn't wait for me to post a comment so your claws could come out at me!
LSNative January 06, 2014 at 01:12 PM
busybody, you are MAL. Pretending to not be just makes you look foolish. Your posts in this forum alone have very similar words and style to MAL's posts. Your reference to the Steel Co. and the way in which you type are identical to MAL. Your sentence structure is also very similar. Furthermore, you defending MAL further proves (to me) that you are one in the same. Nice try, however.
Kelly January 06, 2014 at 02:07 PM
....Just wait for the "GFYTFDRYUIBGSEHNMKG" nonsense. Then you'll know for sure!

@kathy Read earlier comment, I did say it was wrong.
Kelly January 06, 2014 at 03:13 PM
Am I Kathy? Lol. If I am, that comment was to busybody, was just quoting her.
Cindy Cicero January 06, 2014 at 03:18 PM
Sorry was posting from my phone without glasses : (

You kids are driving me CRAZY!
Hugh Gallagher January 07, 2014 at 03:51 AM
None of us KNOW much about this incident, expecially the race of the 2 people involved. The article has generated a lot of NAMECALLING. Some of it accurate, some inaccurate. Understand the patch has something to gain from all of us coming here, posting and creating more bad feelings. We all took the bait. In the past few months, I've been called a racist because I voted for Obama the first time but not the 2nd time. I disagree. I think the person who called me that is a racist. I'm not a racist. What do you think MAL (busybody)
Cindy Cicero January 07, 2014 at 09:49 AM
Let me get say one more thing here, I am certainly NO racist. But I remember when I lived where I had to park on the street and had to shovel a parking space. Only to come home from work and find someone In it. What do you do? Park where somebody else shoveled? Makes you mad... esp if you have a baby or groceries to carry in. Now what action they took was wrong. And maybe the person that parked there wasn't even black. People say things they don't mean when they are mad, maybe they used the N word as a slang (I've heard that before). And whoevers car was written on was mortified that someone even called her/him that. Would there be a police report about this if " PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE WOP " was written? Would this person be considered a racist then? What do you think busybody? No comment ???
LSNative January 07, 2014 at 10:19 AM
You all fell right into the trap. This isn't a racial issue at all. As stated by the police, they are investigating "criminal mischief", not a racially motivated hate crime. But since Patch wants to portray this as a racial crime, why not indicate whether the woman was black or white? Because if the woman is indeed white, than what was written on the window wouldn't make much sense, would it? Details matter.
Hugh Gallagher January 07, 2014 at 12:24 PM
lsn I was called a "white-n". I'm still scratching my head over that one. If I stop laughing, I might get angry?
Bret Bingen January 11, 2014 at 05:34 PM
There is something seriously wrong in this country when a town as white as Hellertown gets all uptight when the word "Nigger" is used. People, relax.
