New Leithsville Fire Station Takes Shape

The former Leithsville station in Lower Saucon Township was destroyed in the fire that ensued after a runaway dump truck struck it in May 2012.

Construction of a new Leithsville fire station in Lower Saucon Township is now well under way.

Plans for the new station at Leithsville and Flint Hill roads were unveiled earlier this year, and ground was broken over the summer.

The former station was destroyed in the fire that ensued after a runaway dump truck struck it in May 2012.

One person was killed in the accident.

A merger between the Leithsville and Se-Wy-Co fire companies was already in progress when the accident occurred, and was also finalized last year.
