Nazareth Man Cited for Allegedly Rear-Ending Truck on I-78

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast said Richard A. Longley, 65, of Nazareth, was cited after he allegedly rear-ended a truck in front of him on I-78 in Lower Saucon Township.

Pennsylvania State Police at Belfast said in a news release that Richard A. Longley, 65, of Nazareth, was cited after he allegedly rear-ended a vehicle in front of him on I-78 in Lower Saucon Township.

In a news release, police said Longley was eastbound driving a 1998 Chevy Blazer, when he rear-ended a Freightliner truck operated by a Missouri man.

The truck driver "braked suddenly after being cut off," and Longley was unable to stop in time to prevent rear-ending him, police said.

The accident happened Aug. 8 at 11:15 a.m. at mile marker 64.7 on the interstate, police added.
