Motorcyclist Hurt in I-78 Crash in L. Saucon

State police at Belfast are investigating an accident involving a motorcyclist that occurred on I-78 East in Lower Saucon Township.

A motorcyclist from Easton was hurt in a crash on Interstate 78 East near mile marker 69.8 in Lower Saucon Township Friday afternoon, state police at Belfast said in a news release.

According to police, Timothy R. Miller, 27, was "allegedly weaving in and out of traffic at a speed greater than the posted speed limit" when he struck the back of a 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by another Easton resident.

Miller, who was wearing a helmet, "flew off the motorcycle and onto the roadway" and suffered a "moderate injury," police said.

He was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill for treatment, they added.

Police said the crash remains under investigation.

Members of Dewey Fire Company No. 1, Southeastern Fire Company and Dewey EMS responded to the accident scene, according to the news release.
