Motorcyclist Alleged to Have Led Police on High-Speed Chase

Michael E. Forward, of Telford, is alleged to have led Lower Saucon Township Police on a chase at speeds that exceeded 100 miles per hour.

A Telford motorcyclist was jailed early Monday after allegedly leading Lower Saucon Township Police on a chase at speeds that exceeded 100 miles per hour, according to court records cited by both the Express-Times and the Morning Call.

Michael Eric Forward, 22, of the first block of Centennial Road, began the chase after an officer attempted to stop him for failing to stop at a sign on Route 378, the Morning Call report indicated.

The length and route of the chase were not specified in court records, but Forward allegedly sped off when the officer activated his lights and siren and traveled at speeds in excess of 100 mph with a female passenger on the rear of his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, according to the story.

Forward was arraigned by District Judge Roy Manwaring on charges of reckless endangerment, eluding police, reckless driving and other traffic-related offenses before being sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $50,000 bail, the Express-Times story indicated.
