Middle School Student Wrote 'Gun 25 Love It' in Bathroom, Police Say

In a separate incident, Lower Saucon police say a man violated the township's burning ordinance by setting several smoky fires on his property.

The following incidents have been reported by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department:

  • Harassment, Disorderly Conduct - On March 24 police charged a student they say is responsible for writing a note that referenced a gun. "Gun 25 Love It" was found written in a girls bathroom at , and police subsequently compared students' handwriting samples with the handwriting found in the bathroom, reviewed surveillance video and confronted an 11-year-old female suspect, who they say admitted to writing the note. The juvenile has been charged with both misdemeanor harassment and disorderly conduct, police said. involving the discovery of notes referencing a gun and specific days or dates have been reported at both the middle school and high school since February.
  • DUI - On March 25 at 12:14am police stopped Christopher J. Jimenez, of 316 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, after he allegedly drove through a stop sign at Easton and Lower Saucon roads. Jimenez, who police said is under 21, was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI. He was determined to have a blood alcohol concentratio of .08 percent, police added.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident, Careless Driving - On March 29 at 4:34pm police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Route 378 and Black River Road. According to police, Robert Charles Brown, of 420 Wegdewood Drive, Palmer Township, was northbound on 378 "and was distracted by his GPS unit." Brown struck another motorist who was stopped in traffic in front of him at Black River Road, police said. Brown was cited for careless driving.
  • Township Burning Ordinance Violation - On March 31 at 11:16am police say John Fretz, of Rose Lane, Lower Saucon, reported "large amounts of smoke drifting across his property and into his residence for a long period of time throughout the morning." Police said that by late morning the amount of smoke had become "unbearable" to Fretz and he "found the offender's residence" and called police. Police say when they arrived at the residence of Charles Martin at 2284 Silver Creek Road, Lower Saucon, "officers...observed several large open burning controlled fires creating large amounts of smoke that could be seen from (Route) 412." The fire department was called to extinguish the fires and Martin will be charged with violating the township's burning ordinance, police said.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident - On March 31 at 5:01pm police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 3656 Route 378. According to police, traffic on Route 378 was stopped when Krystina Perez, of South Hoffert Street, Fountain Hill, came upon a vehicle in front of her and "was unable to stop on the rain-slicked road." Police said Perez's vehicle was disabled and had its airbags deployed in the accident. Perez was mailed a citation for driving at safe speeds, police said.
  • Motor Vehicle Accident - On April 1 at 8:38am police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Applebutter Road. According to police, Stephen Herceg, of Wahneta Street, Allentown, backed his vehicle into another vehicle while trying to turn his vehicle in order to proceed in the opposite direction on the road. Herceg was charged with "limitations on backing," police said.
  • Hit and Run Accident - On April 1 between 9am and 12:30pm police say an unknown party struck a mailbox at 1992 Polk Valley Road, Lower Saucon, and fled the scene. Police say damage to the mailbox is estimated at $125. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lower Saucon Police Department.
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver (Narcotics) - On April 1 at 1:28pm police charged Juan Jimenez-Alvarado, of 516 Hoch St., Bethlehem, with possession and possession with intent to deliver after he allegedly tried to hide an unlabeled bottle containing 86 Percocet pills not prescribed to him during a traffic stop at Mountain Drive North and Route 378. According to police, Jimenez-Alvarado was also in possession of "a large amount of cash" and was driving with a suspended license. Jimenez-Alvarado was committed to Northampton County Prison, police said.
